Description
You always hear people use the popular phrase... 'lightning doesn't strike twice' and while these aren't hitting the exact same spot I think we can disprove that theory. This is a stack of lightning images from an incredible LP (low- precipitation) supercell near Ansley, Nebraska in late May. The whole updraft of the storm was rotating and around dusk some incredible lightning started frequently connecting with the ground from high in the storms top. Radar showed this storm topping out near 60,000 feet as we worked to stay ahead of it on dirt roads in the Nebraska Sandhills.
